Visit Corfe Castle and its medieval village

A wonderful island in the south of England, a destination full of magic if you like the Middle Ages. Villages of typical limestone, Castles, and green, a lot of green around you.

Upon arrival of your cruise ship, you will be picked up at the port by our guide, identified with a SHORE2SHORE sign.

We will enjoy a panoramic drive through the Dorset countryside and we will appreciate that green panoramic view that only England can give us. The ride to Corfe Castle takes about 1 hour.

Here awaits one of the most emblematic castles in Great Britain and its charming little town of Corfe, these are the highlights of this half-day tour.

Situated on a natural hill overlooking the Isle of Purbeck, is Corfe Castle, a romantic holdover from England's most enigmatic history.

We will contemplate 1,000 years of history in this fortress dating from the 11th century which was a medieval castle and a royal palace during this period of time.

Between its broken walls and secret corners, we can read stories of betrayal around every corner. After visiting the castle, we will enjoy some free time to explore the town of Corfe, located at the bottom of the castle.

Many of the houses in this town were built with stone from the castle after it was destroyed in 1645.

A map of the village will be provided and you can visit the small museums, the tea and souvenir shops, the church or the Corfe train station on your own.

We will return to port taking another route back to learn more about the countryside and the beautiful coastline of the Dorset region.

Due to the irregularities of the terrain, this tour is not recommended for people with reduced mobility, people who require the use of a wheelchair or travel with baby strollers.

It is required to be in good physical shape since going up to the Castle will take us approximately 15 minutes walking mainly over sloping terrain.
