Visiting the south of Menorca and Monte Toro
Shore excursion from port of Mahon, Spain
- Duration 4h
- Activity level low
What you'll do
Our guide will wait for you at the port of Mahon with a SHOREXC sign.
We will leave the port in the direction of Taula de Trepucóes, the most emblematic ceremonial monument in Menorca. Built in the Talayotic era, it is a sanctuary whose enclosure is shaped like a horseshoe, similar to those of Mallorca but, unlike these, has a large central monument that resembles a table which gives it its name (taula is "table" in Catalan).
The chronology of these sanctuaries is unknown because, although the enclosures could exist throughout the entire Talayotic period, their central monuments can belong to any date throughout the first millennium.
Then we will go to Binibeca, a fishing village dating from 1972. It is one of the most picturesque places on the island of Menorca, its whitewashed houses and its narrow streets forming a labyrinth stand out.
We will continue with a panoramic visit to Cala de Binidalí. The cove is a tiny beach located next to the Binidalí urbanization with white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
We will continue towards Mount Toro, the highest mountain in Menorca at 358 meters high (approx. 1,200 feet), its name comes from a legend of a bull that guarded the top of the mountain preventing anyone from reaching it.
At the end of the excursion, return to the port and farewell.
