- Duration 4h
- Activity level low
What you'll do
Upon arrival of your cruise, the guide will be waiting for you in port, identified with a sign.
From Santa Cruz de La Palma we will climb the summit passing through the Laurisilva forest, and heading towards the west of the island through the tunnel of the summit at 1,000 meters of altitude (aprox. 3,300 feet). Here we can contemplate the change of climate and vegetation existing between the two sides of the island.
Once on the west, we find the information center of the Caldera de Taburiente National Park and, from this stop, we will go up to the Cumbrecita scenic viewpoint at an altitude of 1,250 meters (aprox. 4,100 feet) to see the Caldera crater. Once the top is reached, depending on the weather conditions, we can take a short walk to see more views of the area.
We return back again by the summit towards the east and, on our way back, we pass by the other scenic viewpoint of La Concepción, 400 meters (1,300 feet) above Santa Cruz de la Palma and the hermitage of the patron saint of the island, Las Nieves, where we will make a final stop.
At the end of the excursion, we return to port for the farewell.
