What you'll do
Upon arrival of the cruise to the Port of Las Palmas, you can enjoy a 5 hours guided shore excursion around the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the beautiful island of Gran Canaria, on the Canary Islands.
We begin our tour on the "Santa Ana" square, where you will see the famous dogs and the façade of the twin-towered imposing cathedral.
We continue to visit the "Museo de Colón", where we will discover the connection of the Italian navigator with the island.
Then we will go to the "Market-hall", with a vast selection of local fruits, vegetables… In the "art nouveau" quarter, where the first banana plant that went to America was grown and where we can have about a 45 minutes coffee-break.
We carry on with a scenic drive to the stunning "Caldera de Bandama", the most important "volcanic crater" on the island. We drive to the top of the mountain, (569m), to enjoy the breathtaking views of the east coast and the capital. (On a clear day, we may even be able to have a glimpse at the island of Fuerteventura).
We will finish at "Las Canteras" beach, where the famous architect "Tusquets" built the imposing auditorium "Alfredo Kraus".
