Trondheim city tour
Shore excursion from port of Trondheim, Norway
- Duration 3h 30min
- Activity level low
What you'll do
Our Shorexc guide will meet you just outside the Port of Trondheim where we board an air-conditioned coach to take a guided tour by the city of Trondheim.
During our tour we will discover together Trondheim, the oldest city and the third largest in Norway after Oslo and Bergen. A large part of the center is pedestrianized, which allows us to discover its beautiful wooden houses and cobbled streets in the best way.
The main attraction of Trondheim is Nidaros Cathedral, the largest medieval building in Scandinavia which we are going to see from outside and listen to the explanations of our guide. The cathedral is Romanesque and Gothic style and a pilgrimage destination for northern European countries.
Another place of interest to visit during our tour is the exciting Ringve Museum, one of the most interesting museums and at the same time the art gallery of the city. We will spend aproximately an hour into the museum.
We will also see the exterior of the Baroque mansion Stiftsgården, official residence of the Norwegian Royal family when staying in Trondheim.
Our next stops will be the Archbishop's Palace and the Bridge of the Old Town, NTNU, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and the Fortress Kristiansten.
We will then return to the Port of Trondheim so you can re-join your ship for onward passage to your next port of call.
