Trollstigen road
Shore excursion from port of Andalsnes, Norway
- Duration 3h 30min
- Activity level medium
What you'll do
Our Shorexc guide/representative will meet you at the Port of Andalsnes where we board an air-conditioned coach to take a guided tour to Andalsnes.
Leaving the beautiful location of Åndalsnes, we will drive along the Salmon River Rauma with mountains rising dramatically on both sides.
On the one hand we see the Romsdalshornet with 1,524 meters and on the other we will have the Trolltindane with 1,554 meters. Then we will pass near the famous Troll Wall with its hanging vertical wall.
Crossing the Sogge bridge, we will approach the Isterdal Valley, surrounded by majestic mountains with names like The King, The Queen and Bishop.
Further up the valley, we will continue along the Trollstigen (Trolls' Path), a road that winds and climbs in a series of 11 curves to reach the top of the Trollstigen. In the valley we will have a break to admire the beautiful waterfall Stigfoss of 180 meters.
Our next stop will be at the Mountain Lodge Trollstigheimen where we optionally can have a coffee, tea and cakes while enjoying the magnificent views of the wild mountains.
We will then return to the Port of Andalsnes so you can re-join your ship for onward passage to your next port of call.
