Skudeneshavn, a White Paradise
Shore excursion from port of Haugesund, Norway
- Duration 3h 30min
- Activity level low
What you'll do
Our guide will meet you at the port of Haugesund.
Our tour will start with a stop to take some pictures at the Haugesund town hall, considered the most beautiful in all of Norway.
On the way, we will pass through the old town, elegant area where the owners of the city lived in the 19th century.
We will head to the charming old town of Skudeneshavn: the city shelters about one hundred and thirty white wooden houses typical of the nineteenth century, when herring fishing was at its peak. This allowed the region to thrive quickly.
Stroll through the streets of Skudeneshavn as our guide tells us stories and local legends before enjoying some free time to shop or have coffee.
We will visit the Mælandsgården Museum (optional) which shows how the city grew, the way middle-class citizens lived, the types of commerce, industries and craftsmen that characterized the city for more than a hundred fifty years.
We will return to the port of Haugesund for boarding.
