What you'll do

Our Shore2Shore Excursions guide will meet you at the Port of Riga where we board an air-conditioned coach to take a guided tour.

Riga is the capital and the largest city of Latvia and also the largest city of the Baltic states and home to more than one third of Latvia 's population. The city is an important seaport and major industrial, commercial, cultural and financial center of the Baltic Sea region. Riga is a museum of architecture, ranging from the Gothic period to Classicism.

We will visit the Art Nouveau district, the real treasure of the city, with the largest and best preserved Art Nouveau buildings in the world. The center of Riga has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1997 and is also known as the "capital" of the lovers of Art Nouveau.

During our 30-40 minutes walk through the old town of Riga, our visit will take us to the most remarkable places like Don and St. Dom Cathedral Square and the St. Jacobs Church and we will enjoy a wonderful view of the skyline of Riga from the tallest building in the Old City, the Tower of Church of San Pedro.

Our next stop will be the Riga Castle, built in 1330, nowadays the official residence of the President of Latvia and also the Museum of Latvian History and the Museum of Foreign Art.

Contemplate the fortification wall of Riga, the Swedish Gate, the Parliament building, the Monument of Liberty, the beautiful and elegant House of Blackheads, The Powder Tower and the city wall that will take you to the Middle Ages.

We will then return to the Port of Riga so you can re-join your ship for onward passage to your next port of call.
