We will walk through the Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, one of the best known in Italy. The amphitheater square was built by the Romans in the 1st century and was intended to hold public meetings. In the Middle Ages, the ruins of the amphitheater were used to build new houses, but it maintained an external appearance and the ancient Roman remains can still be recognized.
