The ancient city of Ercolano was completely washed away by mud and ash as a result of the eruption of the Vesuvius volcano and remained uninhabited for approximately 1000 years.
The ruins of Ercolano and Pompeii were discovered and excavated simultaneously in the 16th century. Since then, innumerable archaeological and fossil remains have been recovered from the bodies of its inhabitants.

You will also be able to see the sewerage of the city that has lasted until today, practically intact.
We will stroll through the streets of Ercolano evoking the history and experience of a typical day of antiquity. During this walking tour, we will be able to contemplate the luxury mansions and the fabulous art of the rich aristocrats who came to the city, some fleeing the crisis in Rome and others to spend the summer in this magnificent enclave.
The houses were designed around an interior garden with few windows to the outside. We will visit one of the most modest houses and we will explore the old baths, theaters, and markets.
