What you'll do
Take advantage of your cruise stop in Bari to discover the most charming corners of this place. With the tour for cruisers on an entertaining tourist train and a guided walk through the heart of the city, you will discover Bari, its history and traditions.
When you disembark at the port of Bari, our guide will be waiting for you at the exit of the port with the Shorexc sign. We will start our tour aboard a beautiful tourist train that will take us to the historical center of Bari.
We will depart from the wonderful promenade until we reach the heart of the city with its medieval architecture, we will leave our train and continue on foot with our guide.
Be amazed by the old town "Bari Vecchia", which retains its medieval essence, cobbled streets that hide special corners and places as suitable as the Basilica of San Nicola, a symbol of the city that we can visit, also the interior of the temple. San Nicola was built during the Italian-Norman rule of Apulia in honor of the patron saint of Bari.
The narrow streets of the Borgo Antico lead us to the Romanesque Cathedral of San Sabino (exterior visit) and the Norman Swabian Castle (exterior visit) that stands on the edge of the old city.
During our walk, we will also explore the area of Arco Basso and the beautiful street "Via delle Orecchiette" where we will be able to see live how mothers and grandmothers make "Orecchiette", the typical pasta of the Puglia region and where we will have the possibility to taste typical products of the region such as oil and wine. This tasting is included.
We will continue our visit walking along the ancient walls until we reach the Petruzzelli Theater, cultural jewel of the city.
Don't worry, you will have free time to explore some more and discover what to see in Bari before returning to the train that will take us to the port.
Those passengers who wish, can return to the port at the end of the tour or stay in the center of Bari and return to the port with the train, keeping the ticket.
