What you'll do

This full day tour will allow us to see the amazing places where Jesus lived, preached and performed his miracles.

Pick up by our guide at the port of Haifa with the Shore2Shore sign.

We will start the tour by heading to the top of Mount Carmel to enjoy the views and then leave the city, driving towards the Lower Galilee area (Eastern side), passing through the Nazareth Mountains.

We will follow the historic road through Cana of Galilee to the shore of the Sea of Galilee, more than 200 meters below sea level.

The last part of our journey will take us south along the lakeshore to the Jordan River.

Points of interest that we will visit with our guide:

Mount Carmel: probably the most outstanding scenic point in Israel. Our path will take us from the port to the top of the mountain. We will contemplate at the top the Via Stella Maris or Monastery of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a 19th century monastery of the Discalced Carmelite nuns located on the slopes of the mountain; we will enjoy a panoramic view of the Louis Promenade overlooking the bay of Haifa; and at the foot of Mount Carmel the Baha'i Gardens, Haifa's hanging gardens, also known as Baha'i terraces, an architectural ensemble of landscaped terraces located on the northern slope and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Nazareth: upon arrival in Nazareth, a fascinating city full of rich historical significance, we will have the opportunity to explore the amazing Basilica of the Annunciation, one of the most treasured shrines of Christianity and the largest church in the Middle East. The church was established on the site where, according to Catholic tradition, the angel Gabriel announces to the Virgin Mary that she is to be the mother of Jesus. Nearby is the Church of St. Joseph, built where, according to tradition, Joseph's carpentry workshop was located.

The Sea of Galilee: leaving Nazareth we will drive from the mountain peaks of Nazareth, passing through the village of Cana (Kafr Kanna) until we reach the Sea of Galilee, 200 meters below sea level.

Tabga: is the name of the place where, according to tradition, Jesus Christ multiplied the loaves and fishes. It is located on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee and its Church of the Multiplication, consecrated in 1981, contains the stone where Jesus is said to have multiplied the fish and loaves, and has a beautiful 5th century Byzantine mosaic depicting the miracle.

Capernaum: was an ancient fishing village located in ancient Galilee, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. It is known by Christians as "the city of Jesus". It was one of the places chosen by Jesus to transmit his message and to perform some of his miracles. During our visit, we will see the ruins of this fishing village along with the ancient temple of the Talmud and the house of St. Peter.

The Mount of Beatitudes: we will visit the beautiful Church of the Beatitudes, where Jesus preached the famous Sermon on the Mount. Located on the top of the mountain, it offers one of the most impressive views of Israel.

Jordan River: departing from the northern Sea of Galilee, we will head south along the shore of the lake, crossing the city of Tiberias, to the southernmost point of the lake. Located where the Jordan River flows from the Sea of Galilee to the Dead Sea, we will approach Yardenit (baptismal site on the Jordan River) one of the most important Christian pilgrimage sites in the world. It is believed to be where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ.

Return to Haifa port for farewell.
