Discovering Dublin

Shore excursion from port of Dublin, Ireland

  • Duration 8h
  • Activity level low

What you'll do

Our guide will meet you at the port of Dublin where we board an air-conditioned coach to take a tour of Dublin.

Dublin is one of the oldest cities in Europe with a unique atmosphere. During the morning, you will enjoy a panoramic tour of the city. The northern part of the Liffey River houses major monuments such as the General Post Office (GPO) on O'Connell Street, Four Courts, the Custom House along the shore, and Phoenix Park, the largest public park in Europe. Going south, you will see the 18th century districts and their beautiful Georgian houses, not forgetting a visit to the famous Trinity College (1592). Oldest university of Dublin, the library houses one of the greatest treasures, the Book of Kells, a manuscript which is a key element of monastic life and Celtic Christianity.

Continuation to St. Patrick's Cathedral, seat of the Anglican cult of the Church of Ireland. The most famous of his deans Jonathan Swift is buried there. Originally, the cathedral (built in the 5th century) was a simple wooden church where, according to legend, St. Patrick has baptized faithful. The stone building dates back to 1191. Many renovations have succeeded in preserving the purity of the historic building.

We will then return to the port of Dublin so you can rejoin your ship for onward passage to your next port of call.
