Visiting Schwerin and Wismar

Our guide will wait for you at the port of Rostock / Warnemunde.

The transfer to Schwerin takes approximately 1 hour, 1 hour and a half depending on traffic.

We will begin the excursion with a panoramic tour of Schwerin.

Wealth in waters and forests, abundant cultural treasures and a fascinating old town characterize the city of Schwerin, former residential city and current capital of the state of Meckleburgo-Western Pomerania.

During our tour, we will make a panoramic walk around the Pfaffenteich and the train station, followed by a walk, where we will visit the market square with the Town Hall and the Cathedral (exterior visit), the Schlossstrasse with the government buildings and the wonderful and exceptional Schwerin Castle.

Customers who wish to, will have the option to enter the Castle and visit inside (supplement of € 8.50 per person at the box office). The visit will be done by free (without guide) since the local guides are NOT allowed. The right to guide inside the Castle is reserved for the staff of the Castle EXTRA PAY only for closed groups.

Customers who do NOT wish to visit the Castle will have free time of approximately 1 hour and a half in the old town for walking, shopping etc.

We will end the visit of Schwerin with a walk through the castle garden and, if time allows us, we will also visit the Schelfstadt with the half-timbered houses.

Transfer to Wismar (about 30-40 minutes).

Located on the banks of the Baltic Sea, the city of Wismar was part of the Hanseatic League and is now a UNESCO heritage site.

It is known for its port, for its carefully restored houses, its market square, its historical monuments of Gothic style and for the hospitality of its inhabitants.

We will start the visit through the market of Wismar, where we get off the bus and take a walk on it where the "Water Fountain of Wismar" (Wasserkunst), symbol of the city and the City Hall.

We will visit the gothic house "Alter Schwede", the square of the Mary's Church with the exhibition on the works of the open-air church and the "Fürstenhof", former headquarters and court of the Swedish Regents. We will also visit the St. George church with its reconstruction works, the Heiliggeistkirche church and Lübsche street with its old houses of commerce.

If time allows us, we will also know the medieval system of ditches and irrigation, the Nikolaikirche church, the Schabbelhaus and the old port.

Return to the port of Rostock / Warnemünde.

 OPTIONAL SUPPLEMENTS

• Schwerin Castle: € 8.50 PER PERSON (approx. 10USD to be paid at the cashier)
• Customers who do NOT wish to visit the Castle will have free time of approximately 1 hour and a half in the old town for walking, shopping etc.

OBSERVATIONS

• Comfortable shoes required.
• People with reduced mobility, who use a wheelchair must be accompanied by another person who can help them. Please use folding wheelchairs, since buses do not have elevators or ramps.
