On the way to Lübeck

Shore excursion from port of Kiel, Germany

  • Duration 7h
  • Activity level low

What you'll do

Our driver will meet you at the Port of Kiel where we board an air-conditioned coach to take the transfer to Lübeck.

You will meet your guide in the city of Lübeck (transfer from Kiel to Lübeck without guide).

The Hanseatic City of Lübeck is the second-largest city in Schleswig-Holstein, in northern Germany, and one of the major ports of Germany. Situated on the river Trave, it was for several centuries the "capital" of the Hanseatic League ("Queen of the Hanse") and, because of its Brick Gothic architectural heritage, is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Discover this charming old city, founded in 1143 as the first "city of the western coast of the Baltic Sea". Strolling through the elegant streets of the nineteenth century and courtyards to remember the days when the cities of the Hanseatic League were flourishing trade centers.

Our tour will take us as well to the famous Holsten Gate and the seven towers of the five churches in the city and we will see also the Holy Spirit Hospital, built in 1280, and St. Mary's Church, which houses the world's largest mechanical organ.

We will have some free time to enjoy a typically German lunch (not included in tour price).

After leaving our guide in Lübeck, we will then return to the port so you can re-join your ship for onward passage to your next port of call.
