What you'll do
Welcome at the port by our Inglish-speaking guide and departure by bus.
We begin our tour at Sainte Mère l’Eglise, the first stop on our historic visit. Arrival around 10:30 a.m. We begin with a guided tour of the village, the Sainte Mère church, which houses two stained glass windows dedicated to the men who liberated the people from Nazi occupation, at 4:30 a.m. on June 6, 1944.
Continue to UTAH BEACH and arrive after about 20 minutes. Utah Beach was the first Allied assault beach in the early hours of Operation Overlord. Despite reinforcements sent by the Germans to where the airborne divisions were operating, General Barton and Theodore Roosevelt Jr.'s men found little enemy resistance. Our guide will tell us all the historical facts of the region before taking the bus again. Our visit will last approximately 30 minutes.
On the road, in Grandcamp-Maisy, a small typical fishing port, you can enjoy many restaurants available for a quick meal before heading towards Pointe du Hoc. On this exceptional site we will be able to relive, for about an hour, the success achieved by the 2nd Ranger Battalion through the historical account of our guide and take photos. After a 15-minute drive, we will arrive at Omaha Beach where we will stop for about 45 minutes to relive the “bloody Omaha,” a chaotic attack that took place in an unfavorable climate. Then visit the American cemetery (5 minutes by bus from Ohama Beach). Overlooking Omaha Beach, the American cemetery houses 9,387 soldiers' graves, 307 of unknown soldiers, who had just crossed the Atlantic to rid Europe of its occupiers.
Return to the port for the ship's departure.
