About this tour

Meet your guide at the lobby of your hotel or apartment and head to the mystic mountain of Montserrat, a place of pilgrimage since old times and part of the Camino de Santiago.

Surrounded by a magnificent scenery of the Catalan countryside, at 2380 feet above sea level, stands the old Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat, an authentic spiritual retreat center consisting of nearly a thousand years of history. Take the chance to visit the Basilica, home of the famous “Moreneta”, the Black Madonna that appeared in the IX century, giving rise to the hermitage of Santa Maria and its worship for centuries. Don’t miss the angelic voices of La Escolania de Montserrat, one of the oldest Boy’s Choir in Europe.

Take a short walking tour to the Holy Cave where, standing to the legend, the statue has appeared. Enjoy stunning views of the Natural Park: on sunny days you can see up to the Pyrenees mountains.

Continue your day in the countryside and drive to the Penedes region to stop at Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, the capital of Cava. We bring you to a family run cellar of 1385 and celebrated for its organic and ecological cultivation of grapes. This cellar is well known for its premium production of a superior Cava called Corpinnat, a distinguished great sparkling wine made in the heart of the Penedès from 100% organic grapes harvested by hand and entirely vinified on the premises of the winery.

Visit the cellar and descent to the dungeons where the wine is secretly kept for several years. Learn by the hand of an expert viticultor on wine production and grapes growing.

Taste 3 varieties of local wines and cavas paired with traditional cheeses and cold meats while enjoying great views of the Catalan countryside with the Montserrat mountain at the background.
