Cairo tour

Upon arrival of your cruise, you will be picked up by our guide identified with a SHORE2SHORE sign, at the port of Alexandria.

After approximately three hours of travel through the desert, we will arrive to Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

First, we will visit the great Pyramids of Giza (visit from the common area). The largest of them, Cheops is the only one left of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We will go up to a certain height to be able to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view. Those interested in visiting the interior of the pyramids must coordinate with their guide to buy a special ticket required, in Egyptian Pounds, the pyramid of Cheops costs 300 pounds, about $15 per person.

We will see the impressive Sphinx, part lion and part man, carved in a natural rock, the Sphinx is 190 feet (58 meters) long and 66 feet (20 meters) high at its highest point and its face measures 16 feet (5 meters) from the ground.

In the common area, we will have time to browse local souvenir shops before heading to the famous Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, located in the heart of Cairo, with its impressive outdoor garden and classical-style facade.

We will then visit the Museum to make a fascinating journey through time; from the pre-dynastic Archaic period, the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms. The Museum houses a collection of Egyptian antiquities dating from 2700 BC. C. until the 6th century d. C. We will find thousands of statues, jewels and utensils, from almost all the stages of ancient Egypt. In addition, we will be able to contemplate the treasures of Tutankhamun, perfectly preserved.

At the end of the excursion, we will return to port for the farewell.
