Our Shore2Shore Excursions guide will meet you at the Port of Tallinn where we board an air-conditioned coach to take a guided tour of Tallinn.
Tallinn is Estonia's capital and is home to almost a third of country's population and dominates political, cultural, scientific and economic life. With 845 years of recorded history, it can offer a wide variety of points of interest. One of the most enjoyable experience when visiting Tallinn is walking the streets of the old city, one of the most amazing medieval urban and best preserved ensembles in Europe, which was declared a World Heritage by Unesco in 1997.
The most important attractions of the Old Town are the numerous Russian Orthodox churches, Lutheran and Dominican monasteries, witnesses of the historical past of the town. One of the highlights is a beautiful Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral which dominates the city with its black domes. We may also see the Cathedral of St. Mary the Virgin, the most important Lutheran church in Estonia and one of the three medieval churches that are still active, the Church of St. Olav.
During this combined tour we may visit the Open Air Museum by bus and walk through the Old Town. After visiting the Kadriorg Palace and its park, we will move to the historical center of Tallinn for a walking tour, including the medieval Tallinn, Toompea Hill, Parliament. Your guide will take you to the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and a Lutheran Glesien.
After then. the guide will leave you in the historical center for shopping or to have a hot/fresh drink.
We will walk back to the ship or drive by taxi on your own so you can re-join your ship for onward passage to your next port of call.
We trust you had a wonderful day with us and we shall look forward to seeing you again soon.
