Our guide will meet you at the Port of Split with a Shore2Shore Excursions sign.
From the port, we will walk through the main places of interest.
Admire the statue of Bishop Gregorio de Nin (10th century), located in front of the Golden Gate of the Diocletian's Palace, a work of great dimensions on which a legend says that if you touch your thumb it will bring good luck.
The Golden Gate is one of the main entrance areas to the walls of Split. The Old Town is built around and above the spectacular Roman Palace erected by the Roman Emperor Diocletian (born in Salona, today Solin) in the fourth century.
Visit of the Saint Duje Cathedral's complex composed of the church, the Roman imperial mausoleum and the bell tower. The Church is exclusively dedicated to the Virgin Mary and the bell tower of St Duje. The Cathedral was originally the mausoleum of Emperor Diocletian, although it was converted into a cathedral in the 8th century and is a World Heritage Site since 1979.
Continuation to the Jupiter's Temple, dedicated to the god Jupiter of the ancient Romans, located near the Peristyle, the central square of the palace, and which was built at the same time as the Diocletian's Palace. At the entrance to the temple we will find the two sphinxes sent from Egypt by order of the emperor.
Walk through the Jewish quarter, the Ghetto, and admire its synagogue, one of the most beautiful in Europe.
After the guided tour, free time to explore the old town.
End of the tour and return to the ship (without the guide) - Old town is a short distance from the port.
